This video popped into my inbox from Visordown reader Mike Webb and it shows a typical day in Vietnam. There's a lot of patience going on in there. You'd have a full scale fight in London if it was as busy as that...

Luv the traffic in Vietnam...so organic

It's tough for us westerners, but it shows human adaptability and co-operation at their best..

The lack of cars and car drivers may have something to do with the smoothness of the traffic flow..

I think the fact there are no lanes etc on the road helps

My wife and I commute in Hanoi everyday on motorbikes.  It gets pretty interesting some days, many traffic jams, idiotic behaviour, but keeps you on your toes!  When we first moved here 3.5yrs ago it was okay (more bikes and hardly any cars other than taxi, Govt vehicles and diplomatic cars), but now so many more cars due to increase wealth and imports so roads more dangerous and congested.  Car driver's have "I am bigger than you get the hell out of my way" mentality which makes it pretty scary sometimes and having good vision and defensive riding skills has saved me on numerous occasions.  Still great place to live though!
