Ducati 1199 Panigale S (2012 - present)
Year: 2012
Reader rating: 5/5 from 1 review
bike, just isn't as usable in lower gears as you'd like it to be. To be honest, I thought the 1199 Panigale was going to be more extreme but it just isn't. It has precisely the amount of drive you want, not need, but definitely not such an excess

to be looked after, all i can say is: get one with FSH and check that valve clearence has been checked and adjusted and cambelts have been changed, also if you have a good specialist or dealer nearby is a good thing and once you find the right bike do not drive

. Through the faster corners at Rockingham it was quicker, smoother and safer to carry a gear higher than you’d first assume. The increased engine torque and tractability encourages you to do it. And boy, does it drive hard, even half way through its maximum

to something being awry. The extra power of the RS isn’t really significant enough to affect which gear you need to be in for the corners, as the standard Tornado has a decent amount of mid-range, but the RS does drive out of corners harder and faster thanks

: Brilliant bike with the kudos of a World Champion. Strengths: Engine - that v-twin motor loves to rev and when she does it gives a kick that is controlled but exciting. The whine of the gear cam-drive over the intake roar is wonderful. Add a set of race cans

Four StrokeDriveChain j3r3my: Best value SuperBike on Earth Strengths: 999 for 20% off (new and now used), smug satisfaction of rarely (if ever) being left behind by a 999 anyway, brilliant engine - much smoother than the 999, gearbox really good once run

when you think about it. The motor pulls cleanly from low down but it isn’t until the needle shows around 6,000rpm that most of the power kicks in before it drives to the 11,500rpm redline. Although Benelli claim the Tornado makes 134bhp

Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade (2009 - present)

power with the Blade. Seating position and reach is one of the best of the litre sportsbikes. Seat is average but I paid extra for the Honda e-cushion gel seat which is great for longer journeys.I use my Blade for commutes, weekend scratches, shop trips

, the new one won’t.Second gear corners and hard acceleration are usually a decent recipe for a highside, but the Fireblade doesn’t have the feeling it’s going to do this. Open the throttle hard exiting a corner and the thing just drives forward. Fast
