Can anybody tell me if oil made for car engines is the same as oil that is made for bikes?. Thanks Been pretty much done to death really, but as search is disabled i guess your ok.Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Ok this question must have been asked loads of times, but what do the numbers on oil mean?10-40 means it should be run in 10-40'c outside temperature? to remain at a certain viscosity, or am I wrong? and it means something else? Actually the 10w40

I know that Halfords oil has been mentioned on here recently, and the reports came back that it was good stuff, so thought that i'd let you know, Halfords have a sale on of their synthetic oil, down to £20.50 for 5 liters!Definitely worth trying

which one is the best for my beast?morning btw.... castrol RS 5W50 it's the best oil but for KT's it's too thin, bad results with my 625 SC. The oil go thru the over oil jet.The Shell Advance is correct but have less performances!!! Gi. wrotewhich

I`ve had a couple of conflicting bits of advice regarding oil,soI thought I`d see what you guys reckon.Any idea what type and grade of oil I should be using in a KTM 620SX(kick start only comp engine),the bike is only used on the road. Cheers

If at present im using a Semi sinth oil in my Thundercat, can i then use a Car Shell helux oil which has the same 10-40 and api,sg etc spec?... Only i can get it for nothing on my Works diesel card... Thanks.. aaarrgghhhhh. try a search on car vs

Going to do an oil & filter change on my first bike, it all looks pretty striaghtforward.The thing I'm unsure of is which oil to get. It needs to be 10w/40 but I'm not sure if normal car oil (castrol etc) will be ok or if it has to be an oil
