I saw a wall of death once.Very good, and what suprised me the most was how slowly they go before riding up the wall. I thought that they would go much faster. The used some really old and scrappy bikes (still much better and quicker than mine though ) to do the stunts on, and a powered go kart as well.A bit scary when you realise that there's only a wire stopping them going over the top.Well worth the £3 entry fee. Not so sure i'd want to try it myself though.
Lloyd_christmas wroteIt's interesting that the gravity-fed fuel lines, and oil distribution etc all seems to carry on working due to the centrifugal effect. Does anyone know anything about the g-forces? For example, do you feel alot heavier, or do they have to over-inflate their tyres.Serious questions. Centripetal effect actually. Don't think they feel much heavier (they don't actually go that quick), but they do suffer a lot with vision - if you watch closely they're always looking at the opposite side of the wall, if you look straight ahead all you'd see was the wall in front of you and apparantly it's VERY disconcerting.

When I were lad oop norf in Newcastle there was a wall of death at the annual fair on the moors. The riders attracted punters by running the bikes on rollers outside the W.O.D. Very impressive but I was too scared to watch. They have one at BMF Peterborough and it's very impressive especially with the old bikes that look like proper bikes.
