The idea of paying £800 for a bike to have its oil changed/filter is beyond believe they are just taking a ride on the back of Audi/BMW type servicing cost for white collar workers and yuppies. I have always serviced my own bikes and only ever use a garage if the tooling is special. If the costs are so high why?
Was in Fowlers in Bristol yeserday, and they had a poster up advertising "fixed price" servicing. Not that I would, of course... What I couldn't understand was that the Triumph costs were:Interim £129Major £399 Full £799 compared to Jap multi:Interim £129Major £179 Full £349 and Bandit/RF:Interim £129Major £249 Full £349Suddenly my service costs don't seem so bad! But why 800 quid for a full Triumph service?? WTF is that about? Do they have to take the engine out of the frame for something?
Cost me £450 for full service on my Triumph (no shims needed) fork oil changed, all filters (bar airfilter as I have BMC filter).  I do most of the stuff myself, but had a broken collarbone then...
