I found this lurking on another forum:-The following text is taken (roughly) from a local mag. "The new V12 is a 750cc unit designed to go across the frame and will use a six speed final chain drive. Sound impossible? Morbidelli claims the 48-valve engine will be just 380mm wide across it's single crankshaft, with the cylinder banks in a 60 degree V. Work began in October last year and the first prototype engine will soon begin dyno testing. Figures of 180ps and 18,000rpm have already been suggested in final form. Even more amazing, the prototype engine will run in a modified Honda CBR600RR frame. Morbidelli is impressed by the Honda "This is a fantastic piece of design which brings grand prix technology to the customer at a reasonable cost. We'll certainly be following its layout for the V12, and, at least for the prototype, we'll use a stock Honda chassis modified to take our engine. There is space to do so, we've checked." The engine uses gear-driven camshafts, Marelli electronic fuel injection located between the cylinder banks and F1 styly rotating barrel throttle bodies. No prices have been set."Looks as though you'll soon be able to get yer 600 with an 180HP V12 lump in it. Cool.
