Was going to stop in Tilford on sunday for a paddle but they were playing cricket on the green right where you park your cars. It is a nice place and Frensham big and little ponds are only just up the road.
Does anyone know of any decent places to go for a swim in the SE area? Not swimming pools full of chavs or overcrowded beaches but somewhere like a flooded quarry, resevoir or lake?Me and some mates are looking for somewhere to ride to and end it with a refreshing dip.
My best friend from school when I was 13-14 drowned in Frensham big pond whilst his big brother sat in his car gropping his bird. Not a place to go swimming IMHO

Didn't think it was clever to swim in Frensham - the water's dirty & I think you run the risk of catching that disease from rat's urine.
Sh*t Sirus, sorry to hear that. Farnham was one of my old stamping grounds as a yoof. Gasworks disco anyone?!FWIW flooded quarries aren't clever places to go swimming. They're bloody deep & some very strange currents can get going.

Not a place to go swimming IMHOScary....I nearly drowned there too when my mates Mirror dinghy capsized and I got stuck underneath swimming was fine near the edges (further out is load of shit old fencing etc)but then as a teenager I was invinciblealso done a fair bit of groping in their car parks too:smoke:
pilot69 wroteI don't know if you can swim at Bewl water near sevenoaks in kent.i went there the other day and it was pretty awesome, didn't swim though just paddled a raft made from barrells and logs:smoke: Also used to go swimming in the river by boxhill, think it's called the dene? There is a deep bit near some stepping stones just between box and dorking town that was pretty good when we were kids. v chilly thoughBewl? They'll shoot you.I know one place that would be good and less public but you'll have to break in. Not far from Godstone. The Mole near Boxhill and the stepping stones would be OK but, as you say, fffffffffffffreeezing!
