great articledisc locks with an alarm are probably the best deterrenst out there
Where is the Kryptonite disk lock? Widely regarded as the best disk lock over the years, I've never used anything else.
What the?! A disc lock doesn't usually add unsprung weight - you obviously take it off when riding and put it in your pocket/rucksack/tailpack etc. I actually lock mine to the pillion footpeg when not in use. That roadlok one is just daft.
Disc locks are a good product - if small enough to carry around and use when you can't carry a chain. They're nowhere near as good as chaining several bikes together, which makes it very difficult to lift them into a van.But any brake caliper designer is going to facepalm at the thought of adding 400g to the product - how about bolting on a crankshaft from a 1951 BSA while you're about it.
