Bigyin wroteDecent attempt at a serious thread Muz However it has a flaw in that asking peoples opinions on what they would prefer from TWO has not gone down too well on the TWO forum. When the editorial staff were criticised by a fair few of their attitude and childish editing of a letter the response was thiselbows in (John hogan)...............if you dont like the stuff i do then dont read it dagored99. (John Cantlie).............its our page and we will edit it how we like and if you write in then you accept you are fair gameShame really as i used to quite like the way John Cantlie had came across in mags in the pastSo why bother saying what you would like to make it placate you as a long time member of Visordown when the new school yard boy says its his ball anyway and if you dont like his rules then dont bother playing Thanks I've read the replies in the TWO forum from Elbows and JC and I agree that on the face of it they seem to have been made in a ball-taking-home kind of fashion. But I'm also prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt. By that I mean if I got the pack mentality bullshit they ended up with I'd have a knee-jerk reaction that would have read "fuck the lot of you, then", but because they're professionally-tied to VD they can't do that and managed to temper their replies quite well under the circumstances. I also seem to remember, although I can't be arsed to look for it, that JC said something like "we're stuck with VD whether we like it or not", which reads to me that he doesn't like it at the moment - and who can blame him when he feels like he's pissing in to the wind when all he wants to do is make his mag better and more popular? The replies there were unreasonable and vitriolic when they could have been made constructively while still getting the point across. If that happened then JC might have ended up realising that his editing of the letter didn't go down well with the majority and he could have come out of it with pointers for future reference rather than a head full of (understandable, IMO) red mist.So they're stuck with us and we're stuck with them. Why don't we at least try to make it work rather than resort to the schoolyard bullying that appears day after day in here, including in this thread - simply because it's easier to do than engaging one's brain?
