Cornering is a far too overrated skill. You can always put the bike in neutral and "foot it" around a corner, or chose your route such as to avoid sharp corners alltogether.Remember, it's what you ride not how you ride it; and top speed is the only important thing.
so you are in fact a cornering god I am impressed, where do your talents end:burnout:
Cornering is THE skill in riding a motorcycle. Everything else pales in comparison. Put aside the fact that the rider who can carry the most speed thourgh the corners wins the race, and think about the fact that the only time a motorcyclist is at a disadvantage to cages on the road is in the corners. Accelerating and braking go to the motorcyclist by default, but even a 16 year old yahoo in a Honda civic can outcorner Carl Fogartry on a 996. Makes you think about where you should focus your efforts....
trogladyte wroteCornering is a very intricate and highly skilled operation requiring a deep technical knowlege and pinpoint accuracy in the application of counter steering and weight distribution. I know someone who openly admits he can't corner and doesn't believe in countersteering not that I'm walking towards that can of worms with me tin opener or anything
FG.
silentmemory wroteStupid question unless you live and work on two opposite ends of an airstrip Of course it's a basic skill dimwit, that's why the more advanced among us concentrate on being first away from the lights Corner's ? wat r they?
Er, seriously Dudette, some of these guys are taking the piss, and you are after some real advice. Just ignore 'em till they grow up a bit. Twats.Cornering is a very intricate and highly skilled operation requiring a deep technical knowlege and pinpoint accuracy in the application of counter steering and weight distribution. On no account should you even think about attempting it until you have been riding for 5 years, or covered at least 50,000 miles solo. In the mean time just point the thing at something you can see, and go until you get there. Stop, get the front end pointed at your next target, and repeat the operation.
