Replacing front pads on a CBR 600

Can someone tell me whether you have to remove the entire caliper to replace these? Probably....You'll likely need to push the pistons back into the callipers, in order to give you space to fit the new (thicker) pads in, which means removing

Genuine brake pads

Need some new brake pads for my CBR600 FX track bike, it's running performance friction ones at the moment which are really good imo. They need replacing now and all the top spec race pads are £50 it seems. Now im sure I read somewhere that genuine
