Total loss electrical system

the system runs on a loss, there is a battery and thats it, no charging system. The battery gradually runs down as the race goes on. It saves on the weight of the charging system and lets the crank spin up faster. colinrsv wrotewhat the bloody hell does

Yamaha R6 running total loss

I have just bought myself a track R6, it is running "total loss" (ie, it has no charge going to the battery while the motor is running) i was wondering if anyone knows how long the battery will last? On my R1 I charge it whenever I'm not on it

of the alternator etc. No charging system for the battery. Done in race applications where the battery will have enough juice to do the 5, 6 , 7 etc laps. When you spare key's gone missing aswell. No Alternator, which charges the battery. Plus you can remove some

the price .Had a Yuasa and Varta batteries in my race bike, its a total loss system which means the batteries were constanly drained and recharged on an optimate, and they both lasted a couple of years of abuse. Both makes are good.I use 'maintanance free
