, with pillions. For the bike-hardened it would be tough, but for passengers with little or no experience of bikes the trip had the makings of a harrowing event.Still, at least I had a carrot to tempt my colleagues and their loved ones out into the frozen north

Hopping on to the ferry to visit the home of the Armoy Armada and the great roads which they developed their craft
and the surrounding countryside.The real treat of the trip away from the racing was heading into Armoy. The two Dunlop memorial gardens in Ballycastle are a must to pay your respects to both legends, but for deep road race heritage Armoy is where it’s at. Home

Tourers in Prague

When you need to cross Europe in temperatures low enough to make a brass monkey wince, and still need to look chipper at the other end, only a serious tourer will do. We take three of the best to Prague for the coldest test of the year
On the face of it, this test was madness. Not just daft or perhaps a bit foolish, but potentially an exercise in precisely 'what not to do'. Riding to Prague isn't the hardest of trips - it's only 900 miles away and most can be covered on motorways

£2,500 gets you a lot of motorbike if you use your noggin these days. We did just that and landed a trio of minto sportsbikes. Then we got a Beemer for the same miserly sum just for comparison's sake
vehicles, the week's adoption period would end with a two-day road trip to Barry Island in South Wales. Why we ended up going to Barry is anyone's guess, but it seemed like a good idea at the time and was at least far enough away to provide a common element

were giving I just pushed a bit too hard, leant right over and that was that. No drama, no highside, just a gentle slither onto the floor and a backwards trip into the gravel. Very civilized. Anyway, must have been rider error because legendary TT racer
