The latest superbikes are festooned with complicated technology, but Niall isn't sure that all these electronic bells and whistles do anything for the riding experience...
Lose the gizmos, says MaccaI'VE BEEN SPENDING a fair bit of time recently on Suzuki's new GSX-R1000K7. It handles superbly, goes like a Tornado GR4 in a straight line, and stops as quickly as you like using just two fingers on the brake lever

Young guns having fun
vocal in criticising me and the team for being unable to provide him with a competitive package. I have to disagree. The GSX-R1000 K5 is dominating superbike championships elsewhere in the world, and with the same level of support available to Rizla

Niall Mackenzie Column - Dec 2007
By Niall MacKenzie on 14/12/2007 15:37:38

have to be admired for sticking to their underseat arrangement since the 916 first appeared in 1994: neat, tidy and efficient. Suzuki, however, seem to be determined to stimulate a reaction each year with the likes of the ugly stubby silencer on the GSX-R

The unveiling of Ducati's Desmosedici RR has Niall anticipating 200bhp road bikes for all - and remembering the snooker star who thrashed his £38,000 NR750 like an old hack
as the model evolves over future years. I also know for around five grand Crescent Suzuki down in Verwood will give you a genuine190bhp at the back wheel of your GSX-R1000 K6. A much cheaper alternative to the £37,500 Ducati, but of course nowhere near
