Used: Alpinestars GP Pro 1pc suit review
By Ben Cope on 18/05/2012 14:02:59
Want a one-piece suit that will withstand more than a few crashes?
highside at Misano. Oh dear..The GP Pro is a ventilated leather suit aimed at track and sport riders. I chose it because the 1.3mm leather appeared thick without feeling too heavy with it. It features CE-approved armour in the elbows, shoulders, knees

Used product showcase from Visordown
, but I’m loathe to wash it because that usually completely ruins any waterproofing and guarantees a jacket rack space in the local charity shop.Price: From 80.00www.revit.eu

2009 BMW F800R first ride review
By Ben Cope on 09/04/2010 12:39:55
BMW continue their rapid expansion with the F800R. With a specification to rival Triumph’s mighty Street Triple, the twin-cylinder BM looks set to lead from the front
out at 60mph, second at 80mph and third at 105mph. In top gear, the F800R will cruise comfortably at 80mph showing 5,500rpm, with another 3,000rpm to go before you hit the redline. The maximum speed I saw was 120mph on the speedo and, although

Ducati Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP first ride review
By Ben Cope on 15/06/2010 10:51:14
The SP version costs £10300 and that’s before you throw the really good stuff at it. It’s expensive, but more is more
. None of these are standard on the EVO SP and they’ll cost you an extra £1500.So the model we tested is £2700 more than the standard EVO meaning it’ll cost you £11,800. That’s 1500 quid’s worth more than the stock EVO SP – a serious amount of money

By Ben Cope on 28/06/2010 14:10:20
Face it – automatic bikes don’t have a great reputation. Has Dual Clutch Technology changed all that? Shall we find out?

Review: Road bike suspension setup by K-Tech
By Ben Cope on 15/07/2011 15:17:03
Does setting up the stock suspension really make a difference?
it to work better but we don't.THE SETUPOn a sportsbike like the ZX-10R, its fully-adjustable suspension means that you can adjust compression, rebound and - by adjusting the preload - you can change the static sag.Out comes the tape measure. They

Used: Starlane Stealth GPS-3 lap timer review
By Ben Cope on 15/05/2012 19:21:36
If you want to know how fast you're lapping, read on
. When I crossed the line at Assen, the Starlane told me I'd done a 1:49.70 and when I picked up the results sheet, which uses times from the circuit's transponders that are mounted on my bike and read off the start/finish line, they got me at 1:49.709

Triumph Tiger 800XC off-road review
By Ben Cope on 10/11/2010 15:08:33
How does the Tiger 800XC perform off-road?
took on some tighter, rockier and more technical terrain where 15mph was the maximum - the Tiger 800XC coped with it all.I have limited off-road experience. Unlike some of the other journalists, I'm no schoolboy champion. I feel that most potential

Used: Forcefield Pro L2 back protector review
By Ben Cope on 04/10/2011 11:08:57
7-years old and still going strong, but for one small issue
Back in 2004 I was at the peak of my crashing days, managing to fall off a motorcycle with alarming regularity. I just had to look at a motorcycle and I'd fall over.I picked up this Forcefield after putting a rather worrying dent in my Knox Stowaway

Used: Shark Race-R Pro helmet review
By Ben Cope on 04/11/2011 15:49:06
The Shark that mimics a mosquito
I've been wearing this Shark Race-R Pro for 3 months now and clocked up over 2,000 miles on road and track. It's a quality lid right at the top of Shark's range. Its price and spec put it head to head with my Arai RX7-GP.The first thing you notice
