First Ride: Ducati Sport 1000S
By Jon Urry on 02/04/2008 12:18:52
Achingly beautiful, plain aching to ride. Another classic stunner from Italy.

cc air-cooled engine is the same beautiful motor as used throughout the SportClassic range, complete with bags of torque, a slick gearbox and a great sound. And it also comes with the same super-heavy clutch. Combine the riding position

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly: used Fazer test
By Jon Urry on 05/08/2010 15:37:08
With the new Yamaha Fazer 800 arriving we dip into the secondhand market to sample the best and worst of the Fazer family…

The Fazer has been a mainstay of Yamaha’s range since the launch of the original 600 in 1998. This unassuming model, which was initially labelled a ‘parts bin special’ due to it borrowing most of its major components from existing machines, soon won

First Ride: Triumph Bonneville America
By Jon Urry on 02/04/2008 14:07:19
Britain takes on America in the budget cruiser battle

that starts everyday on the button (no kickstarters here to catapult you over the shed roof when it backfires). So where does a cruiser fit into this scene? Simple, it doesn't.Because the Bonneville America is Triumph's answer to Harley-Davidson's 883  range. A

Half Price Sale: £5k used sportsbikes
By Jon Urry on 13/08/2010 10:49:09
With new litre sportsbikes costing upwards of £10,000 the used market is booming. But at £5k are these bikes half the performance as well as half the price?

couple of quid in your back pocket. As with any secondhand buy; the mileage, condition and even colour affect the price, but the choice out there is impressive.Honda’s first generation CBR1000RR Fireblade was first on our list. With a Moto

First Ride: 2007 Buell Super TT
By Jon Urry on 02/04/2008 14:14:00
A supermoto, sort of, from the land that invented the genre.

Superbiker into French 'et voila' Supermoto was born. So in many ways Buell can claim that its Super TT with its air-cooled V-twin is the closest thing to a true supermoto, a converted XR750.Much like the rest of the Buell range the STT is a variation

First Ride: 2004 Ducati 999R
By Jon Urry on 30/03/2008 22:03:19
When the going gets tough, Ducati brings out a new model to beat the opposition. Cheating? No, just bending the rules...

. The result is more torque through the range and a power increase of 11bhp to 150bhp, delivered 250rpm earlier at 9750rpm.While they were at it Ducati made a few cosmetic mods, fitting a slightly wider screen, and blocking off the fairing slashes above the air

First Ride: 2004 Triumph Tiger
By Jon Urry on 30/03/2008 19:28:44
Confusingly enough, this new Tiger is actually designated a 2005 model, even though it is already in the shops. Why? Supply and demand - the 2004 Tiger has sold out already! So what's new?

So what's new? The paint scheme and the decals have been changed, new cast wheels replace the old spoked ones and the swingarm is also new. Plus the suspension is stiffer and the tyres more road biased. And, while the price has stayed the same

First Ride: 2007 BMW HP2 Megamoto
By Jon Urry on 28/03/2008 11:03:01
With only 30 in the country and a stratospheric price tag of £12,595, the Megamoto is as exclusive as it is rampant. Get ready to spend your city bonus.

Nice bike - shame about the priceBMW's latest addition to its HP range is certain to polarise opinions. On one hand it's a very expensive toy for immensely rich posh-boys only, on the other it's one of the most desirable and high-performance BMWs

First Ride: 2004 Kawasaki KLV1000
By Jon Urry on 30/03/2008 21:21:18
Haven't I seen you before somewhere? Deja-vu strikes as Urry rides Kawasaki's KLV1000.

.Surprisingly, Kawasaki isn't too bothered about this. I'd have thought the fact that one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers had to take a model out of its competitor's range, paint it a different colour and try to flog it on would be a cause for some embarrassment
