Dr Claudio Costa - Medicine Man
By Harriet Ridley on 14/09/2010 15:50:07
Meet Dr Costa. He's a very passionate Italian who has spent the past 30 years at motorcycle races fixing up racers who crash. Here's his story
told me.Today, Doctor Costa is revered by professional motorcycle racers the world over. So how did it all start? I asked the Doctor himself as we sat in the cosy Clinica Mobile motorhome at the 2003 Donington MotoGP."On 23 April 1972 my father

Should I Just Buy a Blade? CBR1000RR Fireblade V RSV4 Factory
By Ben Miller on 14/04/2010 13:57:36
Flash, fast and fearsomely expensive, the world would be a colder place without exotica like Aprilia’s £15,000 RSV4 Factory. But when Honda’s CBR1000RR is faster, far less expensive, aren’t you better off with a Blade?
This is not a test. Aprilia’s RSV4 Factory costs a full £5,000 more than a Honda Fireblade, or half as much again. On paper it’s also clearly inferior, making less power and torque and hitting a top speed nearly 10mph down on the CBR1000RR’s V

Jewel Sport - KTM 990SMR v Aprilia Dorsoduro
By Mark Forsyth on 14/06/2010 15:50:07
As a time and motion study, jewellery heists are a pretty profitable blag. What do you need? Simple innit, two fast, thuggish supermoto bikes with plenty of V-twin stomp. A KTM 990SMR and Aprilia Dorsoduro should be enough to get the job done
previous robbery. Insurance companies have coughed up, stock has been replenished and although security are jumpy, they’ll always be that way.So with suitably anonymous clothing and a couple of big stuffa bags and rubber masks, we nipped into W1 to do a

Grey Matters - 400cc test
By Jon Urry on 29/07/2010 14:49:50
In the early 1990s, 400cc race reps were all the rage. But that was nearly two decades ago. Are these pocket rockets still a viable buy in the secondhand market or simply relics from the past?
with price tags of less than £2,000 for a quick zip to see if they lived up to their billing. Oddly enough, they more than did…Read on for the Honda CBR400 NC29

Used Test: Suzuki GSX-R600 review
By Chris Moss on 13/09/2010 11:16:54
Fashion may have consigned the GSX-R600 to history with its now dated bulbous looks, but it is still an utter ripper of a bike, and a bargain at that
. That's how we felt after trying a 2000-spec model from a dealer. In fairness our bike was very good example in brilliant condition and with just 4000 miles on the clock. But anyone shelling out the typical dealer asking price of £4395 will quickly

Used Test: Suzuki SV650 S
By Chris Moss on 13/09/2010 14:59:43
Suzuki's fun-sized V-twin won't have you quivering with lust, but it won't disappoint if you're after a competent machine that'll keep you smiling all day
't 100% perfect and improvements can be made but few will feel that it's anything less than impressive to chuck about. And that praise applies at whatever speed you're pushing the little V-twin.In town the poise and balance of the SV means trickling

2009 Suzuki Gladius review
By Rob Hoyles on 31/03/2010 11:48:13
Taking up where the popular SV650 left off, the new for 2009 Gladius has a lot to live up to. Is it as sharp as the Roman sword it takes its name from?

Benelli Tre-K 899 first ride review
By Roland Brown on 04/05/2010 13:33:48
From the brink of oblivion (again), Benelli slip their smaller triple into the tall and funky Tre-K chassis. The result is pretty damn fine, but can it save their ass?
-fairing with an adjustable screen. The motor is a mildly detuned version of the smaller TNT’s 898cc, liquid-cooled motor. New camshafts and revised injection mapping combine to boost low-rev power while reducing the peak output from 120bhp to 106bhp at 10,000rpm. Benelli

2010 Honda VFR1200F world launch test
By Mark Forsyth on 04/06/2010 12:34:57
One of motorcycling’s worst kept secrets - Honda’s top-secret VFR1200F. Visordown were among the chosen few to ride it at the Sugo circuit in Japan
A race circuit seemed like a strange place to launch a 265kg bike with a 1545mm wheelbase but the spec sometimes only tells part of the story. The VFR1200F feels noticeably smaller than a Pan Euro and fractionally bigger than a VFR800. Its pork
