Niall's Spin: Yamaha YZF750R
By Niall Mackenzie on 30/09/2010 14:54:27
You might think it is the best sports bike but its oil problem may get you to think twice
's probably just a sign of a knackered motor, or at least one that is past its best. It is worth checking the end of the exhaust can for signs of excessive oil build up and see how much it smokes when started from cold.Take a test ride and check for pulsing

First Ride: 2002 Triumph TT600
By Visordown on 12/07/2002 10:07:06
When I've mentioned the TT600, a few unkind souls have been mean to suggest it was a shame the entire remaining stock of TTs wasn't destroyed in Triumph's factory blaze. Highly out of order a suggestion as this may be, it does have a reason behind it
the same dimensions as me found it a torture rack. So if you fancy a TT, try and get a good hour in the saddle first. At least getting a TT test ride shouldn't be too difficult though...Otherwise, the lack of any urge lowdown is annoying through town as you

First Ride: 2003 Suzuki SV650 review
By Jon Urry on 15/09/2010 12:43:41
Its faired brother is more suited to motorway miles, but how does the SV650 handle rush hour traffic?

First Ride: Kymco Downtown 300i review
By Ben Cope on 02/03/2011 23:59:58
500 miles across, down and around London town on Kymco's mid-size scooter
brake and clamber enough spare brain cells together to guide me to the right of the van. I go sailing past, slightly sideways and end up parked three foot away from a group of bemused looking pedestrians waiting to cross the road. If only my over

First Ride: 2003 Honda Hornet CB600F
By Grant Leonard on 13/09/2010 14:49:20
After the new CBR600RR, the Hornet 600 could be the most important bike Honda bring into the UK this year. And they've just revamped it. Has Honda got it right?
an hour later, it felt entirely normal and the riding position natural and comfortable. At 5ft 11in, I'm not sure however, if I looked a bit gawky on it, but hey, who cares about that? But to the shorter-arsed among us seat height is literally the first

First Ride: 2007 Bimota DB6 Delirio
By Jon Urry on 27/05/2008 22:41:46
Who the hell let Urry out on a bike that expensive? He'll bring down Lloyds of London if he falls off.
than a Jehovah's Witness to your doorstep - and is equally as tough to close a door on.But everyone deserves a second chance, so it was with an open mind (and valid AA membership) that I approached the latest offering from Bimota, the DB6 Delirio.First

First Ride: 2007 Suzuki Bandit 650
By Jon Urry on 02/04/2008 14:49:15
Old faithful returns with a new jacket, starched braces and a spanking new motor
I remember the first time I saw my dad wearing jeans. He just looked wrong. Dad's from a generation of slack-wearers, not denim, and him in Levi's finest looked as out of place as a Casio watch in a Ben-Hur film. But progress and the passing of time

First Ride: 2007 Kawasaki Versys
By John Hogan on 02/04/2008 10:58:57
Fancy an ER-6 but find it a bit too small? The Versys offers relief. John Hogan rides Kawasaki's lanky new 'any road' tool.
the translation for 'any road' is 'multistrada'. Sounds catchy doesn't it, (if not a little familiar). If space was any tighter I could wrap this test up now by saying the Versys is a Japanese Multistrada. At first glance, from head-on, the headlight looks like

First Ride: 2007 Victory Range
By Mark Shippey on 02/04/2008 12:00:37
An all-American motorcycle by another name

First Ride: 2005 Honda CRF450R - CRF250R
By Niall Mackenzie on 30/03/2008 22:29:28
Niall gives Honda's '05 model CRF450 and 250 'crossers a muddy run for their money.
guarantee you will jump higher and longer than ever before on the CRF. A magical balance of power delivery, chassis balance and suspension has been achieved. Make sure you service it regularly: this depends on how hard you ride, but ignore oil changes
