Niall's Spin: Suzuki GSX-R600 (1997-98)
By Niall Mackenzie on 11/10/2010 11:23:21
The early GSX-R600 is a winner. Yes it's an extremely capable sports/track bike but it's reliable and can be pressed into everyday or even holiday duty too
it wasn't that comfortable and yes, the brakes were a little unrefined, but thrashing the Suzuki gave hardened headbangers a mainline hit of adrenalin. Show it a clear stretch of road or a racetrack and the results were spectacular. All of which means, you

Road Test: VFR800 VTEC vs. ZZ-R1200 vs. FAZER 600
By Bertie Simmonds, Gus Scott, Simon Bowen, Daryll Young on 21/04/2008 21:49:21
Three different bikes, three different prices and three different ways to sports, tour and commute. These bikes are living proof that in the world of motorcycling, you can indeed have your cake, take it to the South of France and eat it...
.They'll take you solo through the bends with a smile on your face wider than the Nile. Then, when the holiday season shows up you can chuck some luggage and a passenger on the back and head for the sun. The daily commute's a doddle too thanks to Japanese build

Road Test: Kawasaki Z750S v. Yamaha FZ6 Fazer
By Simon Bowen on 21/05/2008 21:57:49
Forget the humdrum reality of office life and head for the hills. Mundane middleweights slip the bonds of commuter tedium to indulge in opulent Alpine excess. Budget touring, in style.
with lightweight clobber and repellent for bugs and trolls? All check. A couple of bungee straps for peace of mind and we're off on our mini-holiday. Our journey is admittedly not the longest that we're likely to experience this year, but if it were, we'd only need

Road Test: Honda Goldwing vs. Triumph Rocket III
By Tim Dickson on 26/05/2008 20:54:31
It's a monster mash touring bash on the mightiest mile-eaters motorcycling can muster. Wallflowers need not apply.
Way down in the south of France there's a secret village up on a hill, overlooking a secluded cape where the President of France has a hidden holiday home next to a concealed beach. The village itself is all steep, narrow streets, hanging baskets

H-D Fat Bob vs. Norfolk
By Mark Graham on 04/11/2010 15:01:03
Here’s a bike known in Harley circles as the FXDMLF (the MLF standing for mid-life crisis). Delusional moron Mark Graham rides to Norfolk. Photographs by Sarah
frequently, dithering self-consciously, chucking empty Benson packets into tended hedgerows, slithering, mewling, puking, crawling, and having a memorable holiday. Not a road anyone should tackle on a motorbike. A road to be done with an entirely alternative

To Cannes on a Hayabusa, Blackbird & ZX-12R
By Warren Pole on 22/10/2004 14:57:39
Wozza, Gus and Tim head from London to Cannes in time for cocktails, so make it as fast as possible please, by Hayabusa, Blackbird and ZX-12R
bright arena. But I have to ignore it. Where I need to concentrate is into the deep darkness beyond, scanning for the slightest clue as to where this rollercoaster of a road is going next. At 150mph, life happens quickly. Then the corner. It's an uphill

October 2004The timing could not have been any better. Three Cross dropped the Tornado off on the Friday morning, by the afternoon I find myself threading though the sheer hell of holiday traffic on the M3 on my way to Llandow and the Rapid Skills

Road Trip - Speed Triple to the Nurburgring
By Andy Stevens on 15/09/2010 15:31:36
Triumphs new Speed Triple gets five laps round the Nordschleife
, timing petrol stops was a constant game. After a fairly uneventfull journey by 8pm I had hit the twisty A roads cutting through rolling hills and dense Pine Forest just 40 miles from the track. The sun was setting over the tree tops, the air was fresh
