First Person - Fazer Family
By Flys are down on 26/11/2010 11:11:51
While there’s nothing unusual about a family holiday to France, a couple of Fazers isn’t the obvious choice of wheels. Reader Rod Shaw doesn’t regret it one bit
It was a last minute decision to take a holiday on the bikes with the boys. We looked at package holidays to beaches but my sons Cameron, 12, and Tobias, 8, wanted an adventure and my wife Nova felt the same. In three days, the trip was organised and the boys were thrilled at the...

First Ride: 2004 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer
By Jon Urry on 05/11/2003 11:23:19
Having resisted the urge to tear down the hotel curtains and make them into a set of lederhosen, Jon Urry braves rain and ice-rink-like Austrian roads to put Yamaha's new emissions-friendly Fazer to the test
bigger stake in the market by following Suzuki's lead with the SV and making the Fazer in both a naked and half-faired version. Why? Well, according to the Yamaha people the half-faired version is more touring biased - hence the fairing and extras which

First Ride: 2006 Yamaha FZ1 Fazer
By Tim Dickson on 30/04/2006 16:12:21
Why build one bike when you can have two at twice the price? Yamaha's new FZ1 naked and half-faired FZ1 Fazer emerge into the cold light of day
Every now and then a new model appears that gets me quite excited. The new FZ1 Fazer was one of those, and in this case because it appeared to tick all the boxes for the sort of bike I'd be looking to buy right now with my own money if I had any

Living with a 2006 Yamaha FZ1 Fazer
By Tim Dickson on 16/07/2006 09:57:24
Tim Dickson likes his Fazer FZ1 dirty
July 2006I've got an FZ1 Fazer and I'm trying to love it. Trouble is, it's got issues. For a start the suspension is firm (which I like) but harsh and poorly controlled (which I don't) - it's telling that the rear shock actually works much better

Road Test: Kawasaki Z750S v. Yamaha FZ6 Fazer
By Simon Bowen on 21/05/2008 21:57:49
Forget the humdrum reality of office life and head for the hills. Mundane middleweights slip the bonds of commuter tedium to indulge in opulent Alpine excess. Budget touring, in style.

Sports Tourer test: Tiger 1050, VFR800, GSX-R1000 K7 and Fazer FZ1
By Jon Urry on 04/03/2010 11:18:20
Just what is a sports-tourer these days? Used to be a middle-for-diddle model with zero sex appeal, but these days it could be anything from a superbike with luggage to a purpose-built mile-muncher...
. The original Sports-tourer refined over two decades. Then we have the new breed, Triumph’s Tiger 1050 was a big Trailie, then they lost the knobblie tyres and gave it panniers. Next is Yamaha’s FZ1 Fazer. Comfy riding position and fairing matched to an R1

Road Test: Suzuki Bandit 1200, BMW R1200GS Adventure, Triumph Sprint ST, Yamaha FZ1 Fazer
By Jon Urry on 06/07/2006 09:41:21
Can an ageing, bum basic £5299 all rounder really offer the best of all worlds against a raft of higher priced, specialist competition? Read on to see where the smart money lies
commute, so I'd need a decent seat and some weather protection. There is a fair chance I'd go some distance on it, if not tour then at least long rides to wherever, so a big motor would be good.I like the occasional blast around my favourite roads so a
