Niall's Spin: Honda Pan European ST1100 (2001-02)
By Niall Mackenzie on 11/10/2010 10:02:48
Hundreds of coppers and thousands of Pan Clan members can't be wrong about the long-standing Honda tourer, Niall adds his praise
thanks to good old fashioned build quality and seasoned owners who prefer not to skimp on maintenance. The Pan may not be the best looking motorcycle but beneath an exterior packing all the excitement of a day in Ikea lies a bike capable of more tricks

Niall's Spin: Yamaha YZF-R6 (2000-01)
By Niall Mackenzie on 11/10/2010 11:47:52
Contender for the greatest 600 of all time and still a class act on the track and road, the bike that set the modern day standard in the supersport class is still a cracker
. Scraped pegs will indicate track use; you'd be hard pushed to deck out an R6 on the road.Brakes were highly rated when new, but things move on and now they're rated 'okay'. And the passage of time isn't kind to Yamaha's OE stoppers, so maintenance

Niall's Spin: Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird
By Niall Mackenzie on 21/09/2010 12:19:16
Honda's trusty supersports tourer, loved by thousands, but what does Mackenzie make of it?
stride. It'll handle two plus luggage and get them to the Alps inside a day. Plus when there, it'll dice with lighter, sportier machines. Linked brakes, liked, indeed loved, by many owners but still not in favour with some riders, can be expensive

Living with a Yamaha WR250F
By Niall Mackenzie on 15/05/2005 14:46:29
Niall rolls in the dirt on the WR250F
clearances are particularly important, but I would always leave maintenance to the pros. The usual parts such as tyres, brake pads and chains wear out quickly, but they always do on pukka off-roaders like this - it's because you're riding hard and having fun
