Road Test: MV Agusta Brutale 910
By Roland Brown on 29/04/2008 21:57:58
MV's bonkers Brutale gets a big bore motor, a midrange boost and bags of added usefulness to boot. Roland Brown blags a ride and spills the beans.
midrange punch, the extra cubes mean it has lost some of the 750's smoothness and high-revving charm. The slight high-frequency tingle through the bars wasn't a problem on my test but would combine with the exposed riding position to make motorway trips a

First Ride: 2007 Honda CB600F Hornet
By Roland Brown on 02/04/2008 12:56:43
Honda's top-selling naked middleweight gets a top-to-toe revamp, sharp new looks and the world's ugliest exhaust collector box
-speed manoeuvring as we left the launch-base hotel, near Faro on Portugal's Algarve coast, out onto winding roads that headed up into the hills. The motor felt sharp and responsive, and also emitted a fruity rasp from the stubby, MotoGP-style silencer near my right

2010 Honda VFR1200F DCT first ride review
By Ben Cope on 28/06/2010 14:10:20
Face it – automatic bikes don’t have a great reputation. Has Dual Clutch Technology changed all that? Shall we find out?
.The Hondamatic gearbox featured two gears, so progress was at best, sluggish even with a 750cc engine. There was no clutch lever, but there was a gear lever so you’d still select the gear with your left boot; the action was much like that of a Honda C90.Automatic

First Ride: 2003 Ducati 999S review
By Jon Urry on 13/09/2010 16:10:22
If you want a bike that makes you feel a million dollars whenever you ride it there is only one manufacturer to turn to
lose grip or run into any kind of ground clearance problems. At Druids Bend I had my knee on the ground all the way around the corner and at Clearways the side of my boot was also touching the tarmac. This is by no way an indication of my riding prowess

2009 KTM 990SMR review
By John Cantlie on 01/04/2010 14:52:00
Certainly the prettiest and definitely the fastest supermoto yet made, KTM’s new R-model is wonderfully wayward and has a price to match
tiny 15-litre fuel tank. This puts the SMR’s range at a woefully short 70 miles. We were lucky enough to ride the SMR on the twisting Portuguese roads and the infamous Portimao circuit just 45 minutes from Faro. I have to admit to being pathetically out

Yamaha XT660Z Tenere first ride review
By Roland Brown on 28/04/2010 16:34:47
Sick of your job? Boss giving you grief? Wife just won’t shut up? Why not sod it all and explore the world on a Tenere. Or just use it to commute
’s Yamaha’s Tenere. The original XT600Z Ténéré, launched in 1983, was a direct descendent of the XT500 that had won the first two Paris-Dakar rallies a few years earlier. That first Ténéré might have had fancy French accents in its name but it was a down

Niall's Spin: Suzuki Van Van 125
By Niall Mackenzie on 28/09/2010 14:49:31
The Suzuki Van Van's appeal may be limited but there's more to the bike than you can see
at an even slower pace than before with the addition of any passengers. And it's this definite lack of speed that is the Van Van's big problem. On a road trip to Brands Hatch aboard a raft of 125cc capacity machines, I found myself wending my way down the M25

First Ride: 2013 BMW F800GT review
By Ben Cope on 14/03/2013 17:55:41
The GT barges the F800ST out of BMW's range. It packs more power and promises greater touring potential but what's it really like on typical UK roads?
country lane with half an idea that it could be a good road were you not stuck behind a queue of cars that are pressed up behind a slow-moving tractor. And to top it all off, it's probably hammering it down with rain and your boots aren't quite
