First Ride: Honda Crossrunner
By mark forsyth on 31/03/2011 16:32:37
Lukewarm reception but a stonking road bike for the real world
Just got back from a pretty hard-core 120 mile ride on the new Honda Crossrunner and these are my findings. Are you sitting comfortably?Last night at the unveiling and press conference there was a bit of a murmur going round the assembled hacks

First Ride: 2012 Honda Fireblade review
By mark forsyth on 25/11/2011 17:38:11
More grip, Vicar
if not better than the old one. Don't need a fancy dash to do this...The suspension? I dunno, really. On a race track, any suspension system is only as good as the rider is at setting it up to suit his/her riding style. Despite unprompted lunchtime tweaks my

2010 Honda VFR1200F world launch test
By Mark Forsyth on 04/06/2010 12:34:57
One of motorcycling’s worst kept secrets - Honda’s top-secret VFR1200F. Visordown were among the chosen few to ride it at the Sugo circuit in Japan
of those embarrassing falling-in-over-in-petrol-forecourt incidents. And because the heavily sculpted tank swoops around your knees, when you’re on the bike it really does feel like you’re in it – part of it. Our track and road test ride was dry but you

First Impressions: 2011 Triumph Speed Triple
By Mark Forsyth on 13/10/2010 11:45:38
MF reports in with his first impressions of latest Speed Triple from Circuit Ascari
- Ed)My first session out on track was messy - pumped-up forearms, more sweat than a stressed glass blower and massive effort. Now I've begun to learn the track and the lines, I've started to relax and the bike is getting better and better with every

First Ride: Triumph Tiger 1050 SE review
By Mark Forsyth on 02/04/2012 14:05:34
Catching the ten-fifty from Hinckley
’d buy if you didn’t read the bike press and were lucky enough to be treated to an all day test ride. It melds a weird blend of sensible and sexy and, you know what? It carries it off, too. That ubiquitous 1050cc three-pot motor is a given. You’ve seen it

First Ride: 2012 Triumph Street Triple R review
By mark forsyth on 12/06/2012 14:47:09
Middleweight heavyweight
truly amazing for this class. The on-paper performance figures don’t tell the whole story. Yes, it’s a detuned Daytona motor but the extra low-down torque this offers makes it very, very easy to ride quickly on the roadAt the pointy end, radially mounted

Spanish 125 - Yamaha engine
fun, too.Because my eldest lad has now taken to the road it's given me the opportunity to ride lots of different learner models as we hunt for a likely candidate and, guess what, that Rieju name crops up again. The Rieju RS3 125LC looks drop

First Ride: Husqvarna Nuda 900R
By mark forsyth on 28/10/2011 12:42:24
Knobs, bells and whistles for £9,295
With a race track that's neither fully wet, nor fully dry all we can test in the first of the three sessions on the 900R is tooth grinding and breath holding. The R runs different mapping to the standard Nuda and a tooth off the gearbox sprocket

First Ride: Honda Crosstourer DCT
By mark forsyth on 20/02/2012 10:30:20
Flappy (paddle) future
For the last half of the day’s road riding on the Crostourer launch I jumped on the DCT version. It’s easy to spot as it doesn’t have a clutch lever and there’s a weird handbrake contraption on the left hand handlebar.I’ve ridden the DCT system
