Tourers in Prague
By Warren Pole on 01/05/2005 13:28:11
When you need to cross Europe in temperatures low enough to make a brass monkey wince, and still need to look chipper at the other end, only a serious tourer will do. We take three of the best to Prague for the coldest test of the year

.From Honda we had the Pan European, a motorcycle long-recognised as the governor at churning out the miles with minimum fuss. From Yamaha came an FJR1300. Capitalising on the cult following of the long-deleted FJ1200, Yamaha have revitalised the spirit

Big V-twins

Aprilia Mille Factory, Ducati 999 and Honda SP-2 hurtle across Europe in search of sun, speed, a track day at Imola and a big day out at Italy's largest rock festival. Groovy!

.Edwards and his SP-2 may have taken Ducati and Aprilia to the cleaners at Imola on that roasting WSB afternoon back in 2002 but can the roadbike repeat the feat in this very different test? Early indications suggested it could. On the road it was the easiest

Road Test: ZX-9R vs. VFR vs. 955i
By Warren Pole on 20/04/2008 22:06:20
On the face of it, this is a pretty odd bunch of motorcycles. Take the motors for instance - a 781cc V4, an 955cc inline triple, and an 899cc inline four. Hmm, not exactly the most comparable bunch on the planet.

But then these bikes are a bit of a mixed bag. There's the ZX-9R, whose normal habitat these days is being shot to pieces in a group test with the FireBlade, R1 and GSX-R1000, the VFR which can generally be found romping off with the sports touring

For what we are about to recieve may the good Lord make us truly thankful because what we are about to receive is more speed than can possibly be good for you as we hop the channel with Suzuki's Hayabusa and Kawasaki's ZX-12

miles a minute, choose 70 miles to a tank and 1,500 miles to a back tyre, choose being the fastest thing on the road. Choose a ZX-12R and a Hayabusa. They are the fastest motorcycles you can buy. No arguments, no ifs, buts, or maybes, they are the Daddies

Road Test: Suzuki GSX-R750 History
By Warren Pole on 22/04/2008 19:34:55
Suzuki's GSX-R750 snapped up the TWO Bike Of The Year Award 2004 last month. To mark the occasion, we celebrate 20 years of three-quarter litre lunacy with every generation of GSX-R 750

The year was 1984. Frankie Goes to Hollywood were winding the establishment up by telling everyone to 'Relax', Margaret Thatcher was embroiled in a Mexican standoff with Arthur Scargill and his miners, and the humble halfpenny coin bade farewell
