Friggin great bike. a sweat bone breaker, takes 25 years of your age, though it adds more grey hairs to stop

Excellent Steering. Very reabile if you fit crankcase guards, excellent gearing, though it lacks another one, shocks are great, quite light and in traffic works wonders. Wonderfull power when you spend a couple of thousand on it....
Braking aaahhhhh never stops unless you switch weight to fish tail, Comes as a very clean bike that makes you feel sick... get rid of that horrible box on the rear mudguard, chop the back, adjust the shocks, blow a 3x3 hole in the airbox, K&N, and with another £800 get a full akropovic, and £350 more you get a Keihin 39mm flatslide carb...fit a couple of Michelin pilot power 2CT.. and then she is ready... but forget stock she is like a Honda 80 cub
Love the Bike have 2 of them and they are really enjoyable if I am a boss at Suzuki I will get them to increase power to 60bhp and fix Brembo brakes on the bike, and for sure I will die with one, and get buried together..

Nice looking and good quality bike but the standard build is low on power

Light and handles good for this type of bike, brakes seem good and a very smooth easy starting engine.
It couldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding, really slow to respond feels like a 250.
Nice bike to ride with good tyres ( Michelin Pilot Power seems the top choice) and with the suspension setup it handles well, most users modify theirs with carb, airbox, pipes, cams etc. to get the bike to deliver what it should have done from the factory, good news is that most mods are simple and cheap to do.

THIS WILL MAKE YOU LOSE YOUR LICENSE IF YOU AREN'T CAREFUL.

Very good looking macho-bike, and is a bike you don't see every day. Very reliable. Horsepower is down due to ultra-lean jetting and constricted airbox, but is easily remedied with the 3X3 modification and a J.D. Jetting kit. This will turn this bike into a wheelie monster. Handling is amazing, if you are use to a 600cc puresports bike, then this bike will make your 600cc puresports bike feel overweight in the turns! Accelleration up to 60 mph is very strong after the 3X3 mod is done. Fuel mileage is around 55 mpgs.
The bike's stock seat is not the most comfortable, but given time, it will break in nicely. Or, you could go aftermarket. Comfort is not what this bike is about. One could steal this bike very easily and use it for a motard racetrack bike, or convert it to dirt without licensing.
I really like the DRZ400sm. It does everything well, handling is exceptional, wheelies are effortless, brakes are great, stunting would be easy if you like that sort of thing. It does is all, except for being a long distance cruiser. If fuel prices go sky-high again, Ive got the remedy...my DRZ400sm.
