Get the mz 660 it's as good as any of the big names at a fraction of the cost.

The bike has great potential flexible engine, great suspension, good riding position.
On the country roads it is a blast, on the bumpy pot hole roads going in to work is a pleasure to ride.
You can do a lot with this bike and it cost much less to buy than some of the big names out there.
Very easy to clean and cheap to insure and low maintenance .
Yes the bike for the Mastiff is not the most appealing. The fuel tank range is small that can be a pain and also the brakes are not the best . Winter roads with salt is not kind to the frame and the finish is poor.
Good bike good all rounder something different but has the ability to be up there with the best in my mind.
Ok the Germans were never ones for style but they do know there business and on this bike they have done the business .
My Mz has scratches and cracks and dirt on it but I don't care I did not buy this bike to clean and gleam .
I bought this bike to go out and enjoy and when it's time for me to come home I think bugger just another 20mins .

I bought an MZ Baghira which I beleive is the same but in supermoto guise.

I bought it new and I loved it. 7 months later, the nut came of the end of the balence shaft at about 70mph !!! and the engine destroyed itself. This was re-newed under warrenty which took about 2 months. Roughly 12.5 months later, the same thing happened, MZ refused the warrenty as it had passed the 12 months. Not impressed.I changed the oil and filter every 1000 miles as I do with all my bikes.
Engine!!! Front brake is weak but it all comes down to the master cylinder.I tried 2 new seal and piston kits before I changed it to a cylinder and lever from an aprila 125, many other types will do the job, this transformed the brakes.
Excellent fun. But for me, I will never buy a bike with the yamaha xt engine again.Shame, as I am a yamaha nut.

A BLOODY CHEAP ,ALMOST KTM!

engine,handling running costs,wp shock.
brakes-the front needs more power? the back less and the alloy hates salt
a good usable supermoto great in town traffic ,and it,s off the line go is very impressive ,if i can find how to uprate the front brake would be a great bike, you can even put something like trailwing tyres on and do gentle off road stuff instead, wiill be soon lowering the gearing for better go ,i don,t want to go at 100+ on one of this type of bike anyway.sum up in a few words .CHEEP-FUN

DISTINCTIVE, ODD AND HOPEFULLY CHEAP FUN.....

Bulletproof grunty engine- masive character on the throttle and massive engine braking off the throttle
Quality suspension and factory parts
Better than most supermotos for long distances
Crash well
Cheap thrills, a fantastic bike on twisting urban and rural roads
It's great fun irritating people with a bug eyed, black, purple and orange bike.....
Frame and subframe finish a bit poor
Never been impressed by the brakes
Has an appetite for tyres and chains
Never a disappointment, just a bit dull on motorway and big roads. I've had some fantastic and memorable days barping my way round the country, from the Yorkshire Dales to the South Downs.
