So good that a thief wanted it.

Great suspension, low weight, huge instant torque. Just add Michelin Pilot 2CT and you get FUN ! Add a decent exhaust, Twin Air filter, re-jet the BST40,and you get FUN + ATTITUDE :-) LOVED IT !
Vibration that blurs your vision, concrete seat, more vibration, tiny tank, yet more vibration, bolts furring up and yes, you guessed it, more vibration. The roughest motor I ever experienced. LOVED IT !
If you can get used to the phenomenal vibration levels, this bike is lotsa fun. I was broken-hearted when my Prestige model got pinched. But you like a smooth engine, you'll hate this monster.

HUGE FUN & KIND TO YOUR LICENCE BUT NOT YOUR BACKSIDE!

The superb handling, braking, power delivery & riding position make this bike an absolute joy on B roads (with the occasional twisty A road thrown in for good measure). Excellent build quality & reliability plus cheap to run & maintain. Handsome bike with lots of quality components bolted to it add to the overall pleasure of ownership.

Vibration means that after an hour or so of riding you need to get off. It could do with another gear; too often I find myself maxed out at 95mph fully cranked over on a sweet A road bend with nothing in reserve.... Yikes!

I have owned a KTM 640 Supermoto for over 6 years now & would perhaps only swap it for a 990 Superduke. This bike really comes into its own on twisty, bumpy & gravelly B roads, or in other words, roads that are are a bit of a nightmare on a sportsbike. Perhaps more importantly you have the most fun on roads that are not infested with speed cameras & tax collectors (aka the Police)!

BRILLIANT COMMUTER & B ROAD BLASTER

Awesome engine pulls like a train but runs out of puff at about 90mph, good brakes, tall seat gives a good view over cars
Tall seat as I'm 5' 10" but can cope, no dipstick to check oil level, hard seat but a gel seat is available
Lusted after a KTM Duke2 or LC4 Supermoto for ages it looks so good in shop window reflections that I had to update all my riding kit so I didn't let it down. It commutes and scratches with the best of them BUY ONE NOW

BY ONE FOR ON ROAD FUN, NOT FOR SMOOTHNESS OR RELIABILITY

Great riding position, awesome sound and a superb presence on the road amongst cars and sportsbikes. A wheelie/stoppie machine with very little skill required (I am living proof of that) and loads of smiles for the money.
Shakes itself and you to bits. Bit twitchy front wheel handling. Not a bike for the long distance touring option.
Rough and ready alternative to the smooth and slick sportsbikes with much more grin factor.

GREAT ALROUND BIKE APART FROM LONG JOURNEYS - OBVIOUSLY!

wheelies, stoppies,roundabouts, twisties, winter riding
Top speed and touring !!
I come from sports and hyperbike background and bought one to commute to work each day throughout the year. I found myself riding it more often on weekend blasts with my mates who all have mainly sports bikes and only struggle when on long straights - soon catch up through the twisties though.
Only problem I had was with cracking rims which KTM would not replace although it was definately metal fatigue and so a fabrication fault.
Superb, forgiving, easy to ride fast or slow, easy to wheelie on private land, nimble and well balanced. Cant really fault it. ok it is a little vibee but not too much. I would recomend anyone who hasnt ridden one to have a go on one. When you get bored of it, just go and get yerself a 660!
