Gorgeous and characterful - a wee cracker

Stunning triple engine sounds great through the standard twin pipes and even better through some less restrictive cans. Decent spread of power, a bit down from the 900 which shares the same chassis and pretty much everything else, but that makes for a great unintimidating first big bike. Cracking build quality from the folks at Hinckley, everything looks well finished and overall it's a gorgeous machine. Decent brakes cope well with the weight and available power. 700cc motor also makes for more affordable insurance that the 900, another plus for new riders.
No weather protection and not exactly a comfortable seat but then it is a Speed Triple and that's not what they're about, and the low tank range stops it being a major hassle. Spine frame makes for a relatively tall seat height, although ok for 5'9" and up. Unfortunately the frame also makes for a high centre of gravity which can make the bike feel tough to pick up out of corners, and can lead to nervous wobbliness at low speeds.
Overlooked early Hinckley triple, overall it's a gorgeous looking bike, particularly in black, well put together and fun to ride. Pretty unintimidating, but probably best suited to folk with the size to chuck it about.
