For me the total of the Triumph 750 Speed Triple is greater than the sum of it's parts thanks mostly to that lovely carburettored three cylinder engine which is reassuringly vibrant (much more interesting than the almost electric smooth, fuel injected triples and fours of today) and is an absolute joy to ride. It has usable (and realistic) performance in terms of both engine and chassis and does not pretend to be anything other than a road going motorcycle.

Hate to be picky but the picture is a 900, the 750s had different wheels.  I owned one from new between 1996-2000 and thoroughly enjoyed it.  The engine is great, not so powerful that you couldn't pin the throttle without risking imminent death but plenty of torque and great soundtrack.  Bike is pretty tall, I'm 6' yet still had to revert to tip-toes when foot-down on a camber.  And compared to modern bikes it did feel a little top-heavy.  But the looks, soul, feeling and general build quality more than compensate.  A great bike.
