I've now had the Fuoco for 18 months and have racked up 25,000kms on it.
The piss-poor horn is ancient history, replaced with a Steibel compact air-horn, which gets their attention. I replaced all three tyres about 3,000kms ago with Michelin Pilots. Not sure if 20K is a good distance or bad. Service in Melbourne is a problem, insofar as there's no-one who has much experience with these bikes and my nearest authorised service place (Vespa House) is a hovel run by a couldn't care less fool. I will try the other place next time.
The biggest issue at the moment is that the bike is off the road with broken crankcases. Here in Melbourne, we have the luxury of free pootpath parking, provided you don't obstruct passage. But in riding the Fuoco up the kerb, (which I've done hundreds of times) I struck the sump and returned to the bike to see it bleeding all over the pavement. This will necessitate replacement of the crankcases, which means close-to-full disassembly of the engine. I am fortunate to have the support of the distributor in meeting some of the cost which would otherwise be about 50% of the bike's value.
Not having the bike is driving (riding?) me crazy, so I hope that the job gets finished soon.
