A great bike that is way more versitile than one would think.

Monster engine is very user friendly, with good fueling. Although it runs out of ground clearance early, its got nice handling in the twisties. For me its good all around machine. Mountain roads ,touring, city riding all a doddle. Pretty good range with big tank.On the open rd. i get around39 mpg. and can go over 200 miles on a tank! Great for burning Hardleys and many sport bikes. Power is to the point that i can hardley feel a passenger on back.
Stock rear shocks are crap,(first thing i changed) Expensive to keep back tires on, and only two brands of tire available for the beast.
An amazing piece of work. I have done some mods to mine.(pipes,filters,pc3,removed secondary plates, dyno tune, ect.) And theres not a ton of em around.I love bikes, and drool over all the new stuff. But when i think about replacing it with somthing else, they all come up short. This ones a keeper!

THE MOST EMOTIVE BIKE I HAVE RIDDEN (AND I HAVE RIDDEN LOTS)

Immense torque, incredible handling and presence !! The traffic parts like the Red Sea making lane splitting a hell of a lot easier than most people would imagine and its as much fun round twisty single track roads as it is with luggage all over it , the wife on the back of it and Continental roads in front of it....
finish and brakes .. inconsistant and dissapointing
Unfortunatly , my wife decided that my redundancy money should be spent on the biggest Triumph available , as the mortgage will still be there for a few years to come.. so after an argument we agreed to compromise and l did what she wanted... and how much fun did that turn out to be.. The Rocket lll is a pussycat , or a total fairground ride depending on the dexterity of your right-hand when juggling road conditions and bends with testosterone and screaming !! I have never had such an emotive toy..to be honest l never wasted money on home or children... the infernal combustion engine and a couple of wheels just does it every time :-)... but we have scraped chrome on Austrian hairpins , floated round 1000mph (yes 1609 kph) French sweepers , ticked-over in the netherlands then cruised in Spain..not all in one weekend mind , but in a series of alcohol and caffeine powered blasts involving 500 plus miles a day with friends that just want to play the same... The Rocket gets you there very easily , every time .. and no, you dont arrive as fresh as in a car , or on a 'proper' tourer (you can just watch a video for complete lack of involvement)...but you get there..and you feel you deserve a shedload of cold beer for the effort... overtaking all those sports bikes is just a bonus...and I swear that all of the above is true !!
Conclusion , ride a Rocket lll , nail it and grin.. 100 mph fels like 100mph... wot a buzz.

HUGE FUN. NOT FUN TO PUSH AROUND!

The engine, medium and high speed handling. Looks. Comfort and that feel good factor. Being the biggest on the road!
Fuel consumption, First gear engagement a bit hit and miss. Very low speed handling ponderous and can catch you out.
A fantastic peice of engineering with very few faults. Must have been a huge investment for Triumph to get this to market as it is so different from anything they (or anyone else) have produced before.
