It's a proper motor bike, in your face, unforgivable stuff. That's what I call a bike!

Quality & Finish. 100 years of history. Fabulous Dealerships.
The 1200C is a great bike. Rock Solid Engineering, somewhat crude but works really well. The new 'fat' front wheel brings the bike into balance, so much better looking than the pre-2011 models. Brakes are OK, Gearbox is strong. Final Drive belt is a pleasure to live with. Handling needs some tweaking if you want to scratch around the bends :-). Everyone thinks this bike is pretty. A bike to 'cruise' with. Drive all day at 70 mph (110kms) @ 3000 rpm. You can count the beats.
Rear Shock absorbers were terrible. (Exchanged for upgraded units).
Awkward when running in.....(but understandable given the configuration of the big V twin)
Expensive Extra's. (but good quality).
Service Costs if you are not 'mechanically' minded.
I'm that generation that started on Francis Barnet's & Triumph (60's-70's). The Harley brings back all the childhood fun of a real bike. As said, in your face, or in your pants. It 'feels' great. Lots of feedback, proper bike stuff. Great looks too. I took my time to buy one (30 years plus), but now, I'm totally happy with it for sunny days & fun. Of course, for the more serious commuter, this is NOT the right bike. For that, go to the Jap market or similar.

I've now had my XR for seven months covered 10,000 miles, and I must say I love this bike

I use my bike everyday as it is my only transport no matter what the weather, on motorways 'A' & 'B' roads and I must honestly say it copes with everything, I had the stage one completed and some 'Asbo' slip-ons put on and it has transformed the bike. It's not a rocket machine, but thats not what I want, but it holds it's own against most bikes.
I've had a few small niggles with the bike, like the rear reflector falling off and the rear indicator lenses, but the dealer where I got her from is very good and has rectified the problems with no hassle.
I have owned a lot of my bikes over the years, all used as a workhorse, more than anything else with a little pleasure thrown in like touring Europe with my mates, and I would say it's up there with the best of them. I would say it's like riding my 955i Speed Triple, but not so manic.

This is my first Harley and I love it.

This bike goes stops and handles far better than I expected.Don`t get me wrong its no Jap bike, but if your looking for something different with a more relaxed sitting position ,give it a go. Don`t prejudge like me ! GO and have a test drive. In the end it came down to price £6000 otr, bargain ,the only thing i`ve changed is a adrenalin can £300 , top quality and sounds great.
Only what you expect from a naked bike,a bit on the heavy side and the pillions not that great
One of the main reasons why I bought Harley was my local Dealer,I`ve never been given a test ride with so little hassle.

The best bike Harley has put out in years! Fun to ride on the street, road track, drag strip, and dirt trails

It is not a a whole list of things, but it is huge fun to ride. With the right setup it can do a little of everything. It's a bike for a guy who likes older technology that can be pushed to ride hard or race. It has a nostalgic look that and feel that makes you just want to go out and ride and try to carve deeper into the turns.
Suspension of 2008 and 2009 bikes needs upgrade. Some have experienced issues with minor oil leaks and/or piston rings not sealing for quite a while. Has a number of minor quirks, although all issues are easily worked out by a proficient owner or under warranty.
It is a great platform for improvements in suspension, engine, and drivetraing that make it a nice handling and great performing bike. If you want to ride hard and/or race it will take a few dollars to get the feel you want. It is a bike for people who want to push a classic style bike hard, but still be able to ride with the higher tech sport bikes. Emphasizes torque through its narrow band rather than high revving rpm. It's a tall bike with compact seating though - probably best for riders from 5'8" to 6' tall who weigh under 100 kilos. Just plain great fun to ride.
