Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom Grand Touring review

For the price it is hard to knock the V-Strom. A lot of kit for minimal layout. A good touring bike
All in all excellent value for money considering the extras that you get for under seven grand
A hell of a lot of bike for your money.
The panniers are pretty flimsy and the brakes leave a little to be desired

The V-Strom Grand Touring comes with panniers, top box, centrestand, heated grips and brush guards as standard kit. The motor is very strong and reliable - it should be being based on the excellent TL1000 of yester-year.

Touring speed may be limited to under a ton as the 1000 GT tends to deveolp an unnerving weave above this mark. This may have something to do with luggage-enforced ergonomics. However, this is not a bad thing as it will happily munch the miles to the tune of a healthy 40mpg - an excellent figure for a 1000cc V-twin. Don't expect to have to refuel under 150-miles either.
