Owned a Pegaso 65) Trail, bought new in April, 2007, as I needed an urban commute bike at a bonus price. That box ticked.
From day 1: Not so much a "flat spot" in the power delivery at abt. 3,500 rpm, more a huge chasm. Not happy with the handling, particularly in the wet, not great saddle comfort. (But then I am getting old and crotchety.)
So over the three years: Arrows exhaust, K+N filter and a service cured most of the flat spot. "Comfort seat" cured the sore b*m, Goodridge brake lines with a Brembo rear master cylinder (the original Gremeca seized up) improved the braking, slightly different shaped Renthal bars gave a better riding position for me, Barkbuster hand guards keep the worst of the weather off my hands, the small carrier and pannier frames made it a decent mule for carrying stuff, a change of sprockets (lowering the o/a gearing) gave it better acceleration but I still hate the handling, noteably in the wet, despite trying full road tyres.
Oh. It's not a case of will the finish fall off the bike. Just a case of when. Answer: Each winter a bit more will fail.
Curiously, I still have a love /hate relationship with the cow (Sorry ladies, it's Italian so just has to be female.) OEM spares prices are something else. BMW similar bits are cheaper.
It's now comfortabl, reliable does everything I want, Except go around corners in the wet without scaring the whatever from me.
