Good but bad ??!!
Very warm, very cozy, very comfy
Very unreliable
Had my kit for 18 months. It includes ajacket liner, Gerbing Nu-buck heated gloves and matching twin controller. The jacket went back within a couple of weeks as the connection block inside the garment overheated so much, it felt like it was going to melt the jacket. It took weeks for it to be repaired as it went back to Holland.
The twin controller packed up when the jacket was finally returned. It was replaced by the the UK stockist straight away. The left glove connection socket developed a rattle and sometimes fails. The new controller failed 8 months later (bear in mind it wasn't used for 7 of them - Spring / Summer!). That resulted in Gerbing wanting all the stuff back to check it all. It went back on the 09 12 11, and I had it returned on 20 01 12 still with a rattly glove connection!!
This kit is great when it works, but back up service is poor even though a warranty period is good. I can't believe I have 'rogue' items as the jacket and the gloves and two controllers have all failed. What are the chances?
I chose Gerbing because of the heated sleeves, neck, back and chest within the jacket and I liked the gloves (which are waterproof). Now other companies make the same kit I would suggest don't go with Gerbing, try Keis or BikeTek.
Gerbings jacket £150, gloves £135, twin controller £85, and the little pouch it goes in, which you DO need, £19, is a lot of cash for unreliable stuff. It always breaks when it's coldest !!
