Used: Furygan Vent Sympatex gloves review

Sporty looks and warmth now in one package

I'VE always really liked Furygan. From the outright design of their products to cool features like their panther logo, they make decent gear and always seem to be put together extremely well.

And their new Vent Sympatex (VS) gloves seem to be no exception.

Marketed as a winter glove, the VS proves to me that you don’t need to sacrifice every ounce of style to have a warm hand. I’ve ridden with these in heavy rain and close to sub-zero temperatures and the waterproof material has kept my hands warm for most of that time, and dry for all of it.

The 100% leather palm gives a nice amount of feedback through the bars, a respectable trait considering warm and precise rarely seem to go hand-in-hand (excuse the pun).

The glove has a fairly long cuff, according to Furygan this improves insulation. It can make for frustrating work if you like to tuck your gloves into your jacket though.

If you don’t, then the adjustable cuff will fit over any winter jacket sleeve.

Furygan has gone so far as to add features like an insert into the forefingers and thumbs, allowing you to use touchscreen devices. It works, but the fairly thick insulation running along the fingers can make it hard to dial the right number. Useful for a quick look on Google Maps without having to remove your gloves though.

Inside the glove, running along the back of the hand, is an extremely soft and warm fabric which warms up your hands really quickly and fills in any gaps to keep a snug fit.

The VS gloves are another fine product in Furygan’s arsenal and at £89.99 for the pair you could easily spend a lot more on winter gloves without much gain. I really like them.
