Review: Spyke Motika textile jacket

First impressions of the Motika textile jacket from Spyke

Over the past few weeks I've been testing this Spyke sports textile jacket and so far I’ve been really impressed. Called the Motika Waterproof, it has so far stood up to everything that’s been thrown at it.

It has an ‘aquasafe’ layer between the outside of the jacket and the inside mesh which blocks wind whilst remaining breathable. The outside of the jacket is 100% waterproof and has kept me completely dry, despite some recent nasty weather.

It has a double zip system at the front, which does a great job of keeping the cold from penetrating through the zip. As you would expect, the jacket has a removable internal lining, which extends all the way down the arms. The sleeves feature an adjustment tab to stop billowing.

Overall it’s a great fit for me, the only downside with the jacket is the lack of back protector, although there is pocket for one. At least removable CE approved shoulder and elbow protection comes as standard.

I have worn Spyke leather jackets before and found the level of finish to be really good, and it’s the same with the Motika Waterproof. For £199 I don’t think you can go wrong.

The Spyke Motika jacket is available from The Key Collection.
