New: Hein Gericke journey gtx jacket

New product showcase from Visordown

This jacket is a functional, robust, Gore-tex laden quality garment.

It does the job of keeping you warm and dry and can’t be faulted in that respect. The styling is simple, but I’d put it at the plainer end of that scale.

You could call it a bit dull, but considering the quality, it will last a long time, and it would be at risk of dating badly if it adopted the disposable‚ fashion principles seen so prominently on the high street.

The back protector is a bit sturdier than most jackets but remains comfortable and unobtrusive. Elastic grips around the arms stop them from flapping around, but I’m most impressed by the fabric-lined hand pouches to be found behind the pockets.

What a great idea! The poppers down the front are marginally more time consuming to do up than a zip but do break the ‘flatness’ of the front, while the zipped cuffs work well over gloves.

The appeal of this jacket, besides its quality, is that it would suit anyone of all ages, all sizes, and that is a hard target to achieve.

Pros: Snug hand pouches
Cons: Pockets
