You don't need to spend £500 to guarantee the ultimate-level of helmet protection.

The UK government have introduced SHARP as their way of testing a helmet's safety rating and we've picked out five helmets that score five stars in the SHARP test.

SHARP Helmet testing evaluates the protection offered by a helmet by analysing the impact levels across its surface. According to SHARP they carry out their test 'on each model using seven individual helmets across a range of sizes – assessing how well each helmet could protect the brain in the event of a crash.'

Before you head to the dealer, check out our cross-section of the safest helmets that score five-stars under the SHARP testing but only lighten your bank account by 150 big ones.

I just bought the Caberg V2R three weeks ago.

I find peripheral vision top and sides is very good compared to my last helmet an RST RaceVent, a big bonus for me and worthy of purchase for this alone. The snap buckle Im unsure about and fumble a lot being used to D Rings, I might get used to it though. The anti mist visor works a treat but I still have to use Fogtech on my glasses. I find my chin a bit close to the front of the helmet and this causes the helmet to heat up a bit even with the vents open but I could take the bottom wind dam off to help. Its no quieter and the forehead part seems to get damp quicker than my earlier helmet. But I am happy with it so far.

Must admit I bought a Caberg V2 and love it granted its noisy on the Autobahn... but earplugs sort that issue or in my case the engine noise from the Trumpet... outside of that its comfy good easy to clean out and has the Caberg sunshade ideal when your in Sunny conditions like here in Vienna in Spring Summer Autumn... Road to Leeds England with it and back was fantastic... glad for the Visor on days when the suns low in the sky as well...

Nice feedback review Slarti, i'm tempted to get this helmet as generally the pro's far outweigh the con's in terms of users reviews.
Thanks
