Rider almost killed in circus stunt

Video captures when circus jump goes wrong

A STUNT rider luckily survived a horrific accident after hitting a high-wire whilst performing a jump at a circus.

The rider, Josh Headford, was knocked off his motocross bike when he collided with the wire and was dropped into a 25-foot freefall, the packed crowd believed the fall was part of the act until the ringmaster revealed it was an accident.

As the lights dimmed the crowd feared the worst but Headford was lucky as he only sustained breaks to his leg, wrist, elbow and shoulder.

The 20-year-old said he would have made the jump had it not been for the wire, which shouldn't have been there were he attempted the feat. He has vowed that he will be back on a bike as soon as his injuries have healed.
