Vermeulen to miss Valencia

Brit rider in the frame for WSB Kawasaki ride after injured Australian opts out of round three

FOLLOWING HIS high-speed crash in the opening round of the 2010 World Superbike championship at Phillip Island, Aussie racer Chris Vermeulen has announced he will miss the third round of the season at Valencia this coming weekend.

Vermeulen missed round two of the season at Portimao because of his injuries; the Aussie underwent surgery last week to repair damaged ligaments and cartilage, which the former World Supersport champ sustained during the Phillip Island tumble.

Kawsaki BSB man Simon Andrews is expected to take Vermeulen’s seat on the factory WSBK Kawasaki ZX-10R at Valencia; last week Visordown gave you the heads up that the BSB frontrunner was in the frame for Vermeulen's ride.
