AFTER breaking his foot in a crash at Monza and being sidelined for this weekend's round at Donington Park, Crescent Suzuki has announced that John Hopkins will be replaced by Peter Hickman.
Hopkins broke a bone in his right foot and injured his left hip in a high-side at Monza last weekend, the Anglo-American had hoped he would be fit enough to ride at the British round, but an examination earlier this week revealed more damage than originally thought.
Hickman will get his first taste of the Crescent Suzuki GSX-R1000 in free practice today.
"It’s going to be a steep learning curve, but I’ve got nothing to lose, so I’m really looking forward to it," said the 24-year-old from Louth. "I know the track, but I don’t know the bike, so I’ll be spending the first practice getting used to the GSX-R and how it behaves round Donington. I’d like to thank everybody in the team for giving me this chance and I really hope that I will not disappoint them.”
