BRITISH WSB star Leon Haslam has blasted tyre manufacturer Pirelli following his disappointing results in both of Sunday's races at Brno.
The Alstare Suzuki man, who scored an uncharacteristic 8th and 11th in Sunday's Czech round of the 2010 WSB series, didn't hide his feelings about the performance of his tyres in both races, stating he will not be using the new tyres again.
Pirelli are sole suppliers to the 2010 World Superbike Championship.
Speaking after the race, Haslam said:
“What an awful weekend,” said Haslam. “I’m disappointed and frustrated. The problems we had at the last round in Misano have spilled over to this round. In Misano we were able to change back to a setting and tyre we knew from earlier races but we didn’t have that option for Brno.
“We have the latest development tyres and although they offer more grip it’s really difficult to get the machine set up to work on them. A few people have got them to work but the majority are struggling.
“In race two the rear tyre just didn’t seem to work at all and I really struggled to finish the race. I’ve tried to look at some positives from the weekend but there aren't any. We’ll go back to the tyres we know from now on and a base set-up for the machine that we know works and I’m convinced I’ll be faster and challenging for the podium again.”
