MULTIPLE World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss tested a WSB Ducati racer the first time since his retirement from the championship at the end of 2008 this week, amidst rumours the Australian will make a full-time return to the series in 2011.
The two-day test at Mugello, Italy, resulted in a best lap in a time of 1:51.9 on race tyres. In 2008 Bayliss posted a 1:52.8 during a Ducati WSB test.
"I really enjoyed myself and I hope the feedback I have been giving the guys is useful," said Bayliss after the test. "I was a little worried that I'd have forgotten how to ride after the year and a half break, but it was easy and to be honest it felt like I'd never been away!"
Bayliss has already lost one testicle and a finger through crashes in World Superbike racing. Should the 41-year-old Australian make a return to WSB?
