IN A rare closed-season interview Valentino Rossi has spoken out about the coming season, the troubles he has faced and the night GP in Qatar next year.
Speaking today to Studio Sport in Italy he said:
"I'm trying to sort myself as best as I can, it is a different set up. Now that I'm getting on a bit, I have the time, the experience and the maturity needed to follow the more important things beyond the circuit. I will at any rate try to keep as calm as possible, which is a basic requirement for anyone getting on a motorbike, and a general one for those involved in this sport".
The rider from Tavullia is officially on holiday, but talked about his reactions to one of the major innovations of the coming season, the overnight Qatar Grand Prix.
"In my opinion you should spend your nights doing other things, not riding a motorbike - he smiled - but everyone I've spoken to has told me that the floodlighting scares your pants off; it's practically like riding during the day. Nonetheless - he ended - I'm a lot wider awake at 11 in the evening than at 11 in the morning, so it could spell good news for me".
