THE third day of MotoGP testing at Sepang was cut short by rain, but there was plenty of time for action and times once again came down from the previous day.
Dani Pedrosa led the field, with a best lap of 2m 0.100s, 0.329s ahead of Jorge Lorenzo. While Valentino Rossi impressed with a third fastest time of 2m 0.542s. While Rossi impressed, he was pushed by Repsol Honda rookie Marc Marquez who was under 0.1 seconds off the multiple World Champion.
Cal Crutchlow put in a strong performance in fifth place, while Bradley Smith outgunned both factory Ducatis in eighth place, with a best time of 2m 2.093s.
Missing from the timesheets was Pramac Ducati's Ben Spies who decided to rest his injured shoulder.
