REIGNING MOTOGP World Champion Casey Stoner set the fastest time in Free Practice 2 this afternoon at Brno, despite a last-minute gravel-trap excursion.

Stoner posted a fastest time of 1:57.231 - two-tenths quicker than nearest rival Valentino Rossi. The Italian set the quickest time this morning in the first free practice session.

Rizla Suzuki's Loris Capirossi was the third quickest rider of the session, pipping Shinya Nakano in the dying seconds.

Britain's James Toseland finished in 13th place. The Yorkshire took a low-speed tumble towards the end of the hour-long session. Dani Pedrosa's injury woes continued, as the Spaniard could only better this morning's last place performance by one position.
