Kawasaki...still testing in 2009

KAWASAKI MOTOGP team has further fuelled rumours that its 2009 ZX-RR will be out in the MotoGP championship in 2009 as a privateer entry by testing the new bike in Eastern Creek, Australia.

Kawasaki Factory test riders Olivier Jacque and Tamaki Serizawa put the new bike through its paces as part of a two-day private test at the track near Sydney.

Jacque said: "I only had a quick first run but the first impression with the bike is quite positive. Overall it seems lighter and more agile, so the work done over the winter has definitely been positive. Now we have to rack up some miles to have a better idea of the bikeĀ“s potential."

The new bike is slimmer and has a new motor and swingarm for the coming season.
