DORNA, the organisers of MotoGP, have announced the provisional 2012 calendar.

The calendar includes three dates which have yet to be confirmed, one of which is looking increasingly unlikely: the German MotoGP at Sachsenring. The circuit, a favourite with fans and riders, continues to lose money hosting the event - a matter made worse by the fact that Dorna have allegedly doubled their fee to Sachsenring from€2m to€4m for 2012.
The calendar includes four rounds in Spain, two in Italy and two consecutive rounds in the USA. The Japanese round at Motegi stays in its October slot, having been postponed from earlier dates twice in two years. This new running order makes much more logistical sense for the teams as they then travel to Malaysia then Australia.
