INDIA may appear on future MotoGP schedules, after it was revealed officials and MotoGP bosses have been in negotiations about bringing premier-class racing into the country.

"We are negotiating with Dorna Sports to bring MotoGP to India but it's quite an early stage and we have not reached a deal yet," a Jaypee Sports International spokesperson said.

If the event got the go-ahead, it would be held at the Great Noida circuit, which is currently under construction and will host the 18th leg of next year's Formula One championship on Oct 30th, 2011.

"We have been talking to Dorna as we have been talking to others to explore various other opportunities. Yes, MotoGP might come to India but it's definitely not before 2012," the spokesperson said.

Indian automaker Mahindra Group announced last week it is to launch a team in the 125cc MotoGP class.

On Monday this week, Visordown revealed the news that Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi may appear on the 2012 MotoGP calendar.
